We live on a river in Florida and also have wetlands on the long side of our property. River rats have proven to be a problem. They seem to like the wires in my Toyota Prius and have cost me a few dollars in repairs. Our Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) and German Shepherd tore the front end off the Prius one night because they smelled a rat in the engine compartment. That was a $1,600 repair. But at least it was a good laugh at the body shop.So I am constantly setting traps and putting out poison on the other side of our fencing. When I use the poison I also put it inside a chicken wire cage with an opening only large enough for rats and mice to enter. I have no reason to go after the raccoons, rabbits, feral cats, squirrels, etc. that also roam around out there. One Bite does the trick. Just try to make sure that it doesn't rain soon after you put it out. And use gloves to avoid getting it on your hands--and getting human scent on the bait. Rats are tricky little buggers.

We live in an old pier and beam house and had a bad experience with rats our first year here. I keep this stuff on hand for the first signs of their return. It's called "just one bite" for a reason. Other brands require the rat to eat and eat and eat the stuff for it to finally kill them. This stuff works FAST
