October 6, 2009 Initial Comments:Wow . . . was I ever surprised when the Arcan Aluminum Model #ALJ2T arrived. It was more than I expected! The mechanisms appear soundly engineered with absolutely no slop or play. Immediately jacked up the rear wheel of my Jaguar XJR simply to check out the hydraulics and it worked like a champ. This is a robust lifting instrument.I learned alot from the Amazon.com feedback on other 1 1/2 to 2 Ton aluminum service jacks . . . too many people were having problems after one year. Then discovered even the Sears Craftsman Professional jack was only warrentied for 1 year. Figured the market place was telling me something that I shouldn't ignore.Assuming that I'd only be using 60% of the 2T lift capacity at any one time, I took a chance on this unit and it looks like I hit a home run. Changing the 4 snow tires next month will be fun. At my age, it is nice to be using precision tools to safely work on my Jag.Will provide follow-up feedback next year on my experience with it's reliability. Right now I'm simply enamored with the quality engineered service jack that I got for $200. Wish every $200 purchase would make me feel like this!July 26, 2012 Update: Hard to believe it has been 2.5 years already. This device just keeps on working! And for a 65 year old grandfather who is psychologically younger than his physical muscles . . . it has been a treat. I really do appreciate the speed and precision that comes with this jack. It was an excellent purchase . . . well worth the $$.

I bought this jack at a brick and mortar to save on shipping it, but wanted to throw another positive review on here because I am really impressed with the unit.Firstly, the pictures don't do it justice. This is a really, really nice looking jack. It is extremely well made, very heavy duty for a 2-ton aluminum jack. The build quality is simply excellent. Out of the box, it's just shy of 50 lbs. which is, in my opinion, perfect. I can lug it around with one hand and take it in and out of my truck with ease if I need to change a tire at the roadside. The handle is a full 50" in length and has the lower portion already padded to prevent damage to your vehicle from the handle when the handle returns to the upright position. Everything had great fit and finish and the lift was quick and solid. All the moving parts of the jack and the hydraulic cylinder were well lubricated right out of the box and it should be good to go for a lifetime of service.For the money, you really can't get a much better aluminum, quick-lift jack in 2-ton capacity. This is more than enough beef to change tires on even large SUVs, certainly on most cars. You get from 3.5 all the way to 19.25 inches in lift range, which should cover anything that isn't lifted or lowered.I am extremely impressed with the product and well satisfied with the money spent on it. This is an awesome floor jack and if you're in the market for light weight but heavy-duty model, you'd be hard pressed to find a better choice. Go for it, you won't regret it!

This beautiful piece of equipment was made with the home mechanic in mind. It's half the weight of its predecessor yet just as durable. A quality build of lightweight aluminum allows it to support more than 4000 pounds. Moreover, its carriage can get below 3.75 inches! I must admit that my one disappointment is that its made in--u guessed it--China.
