By RobsterMobster
Installed on a 2008 Avenger R/T in about 1.5 hours (the most time consuming is getting to the battery on this car). Remember this is designed to be installed outside, underneath of car. (someone mentioned that it took them hours to route the power cable underneath the carpeting and such through the car to the battery).Open the trunk and pull back the carpeting and remove the wing nuts holding the taillights in place (two on each side)and use a socket to depress the cone shaped holder in to release it.From underneath, go up behind the bumper and feed the short wires to the driver side taillight.Gently pull up on the red tab on the light socket and depress it to slide the socket off. Plug in the Curt Socket to the taillight and slide red tab down and do the same for the other Curt socket to the wire socket you just unplugged.Do the same for the passenger side and mount the converter box to the underside of the car with cable ties (provided).Jack up the driver side front of car and remove tire. Then remove the plastic plugs in the wheel well fascia. This is done by prying out the round center plug (not the washer looking thing)with a flat end screw driver and then a small open end wrench can be slid in and rocked side to side to get it the rest of the way. Once it is out, you can pry out the rest of the plastic piece with a screw driver. Then undo the two screws connecting it to the fender well (7mm socket).Remove the negative battery cable (12mm) and the positive (10mm) Hook up the black cable per the instructions and route under the car and put it all back together. Not very difficult at all and it works great!
