Just received this pump a few days ago. This is a replacement pump for an artificial stream that I have in the front of my house. The rise is about 2 1/2 feet and approximately 8 feet long and two feet wide. The flow is fantastic with two waterfall (or rapids) drops. This pump is completely silent. Very impressive pump for the price.

We bought this pump as a replacement to a Danner model that lasted only 5 months (sort of explains the cynical review title, huh?). When we first installed our pond 8-9 years ago, the pump in the skimmer was a Laguna model that was really dependable for all those years until finally going kaput late last summer. Unfortunately, Laguna had stopped making that particular pump, so we replaced it with the doomed Danner 3000GPH model. As many of you probably know, only certain specific waterfall pumps fit into the size constraints of most skimmer boxes, plus often there is quite a bit of work involving in finding appropriate connectors/hosing to get a new model of pump fitted and working with the existing waterfall hosing/connectors. So, besides the cost issue involved with having to replace a pump, there is also the hassle of getting it connected. Anyway, this new Beckett Crystal Pond model turned out to be a bit easier to connect than others and is now installed, runs pretty quietly, and seems to be doing a great job. Fingers crossed...it'll keep working.I'll be sure to update my rating and review of this Beckett model if its performance changes. The short-lived Danner model was actually well-rated at the time we purchased it. Since that time, other reviewers have had the same issue that we did with it not working very long and have gone back in and dropped their ratings (as I also did).

I never thought this price range pump would be so strong but it was just as good as the $300 pump it replaced. I would highly recommend it.
