These are time savers, and money savers if you planned on using the removeable couplings anyway. The screw fittings make it easy to add/remove valves without having to cut into your PVC, and if you buy them as a unit, they are cheaper than buying them in pieces. I've got two of these manifolds, and added a 4th valve to each set.Another nice thing about these is that you can pull the end cap off, add a compressor fitting and blow your system out when the season is over.They are sized to match with the Orbit Valve Box base (amazon item B0040QUMUS). If you don't want to cut holes in your valve box, the base is the way to go.All in all I'm pleased with the convenience, and the valves are all working great so far.

Have four three valve assemblies in my sprinkler system. Three were Orbit units. Bought the latest Orbit assembly the replace another make that was giving trouble. Now have four Orbit three valve assemblies all working well. Noticed complaints about leakage in some of the on line reviews. Have not encountered this problem. Suspect that debris left in the lines after assembly eventually migrates to the valves and causes leakage. Orbit has on line advice for cleaning valves.

When I saw this, I bought it. It was just what I thought I needed.However....1) It does NOT come with an ant-syphon valve. Almost all building codes require that you have these. It would be nice if they had an option that also resolved that issue. Fortunately, you can get options at any hardware store, but it was frustrating to have to do so. They should certainly make it clear that you will most likely need to get it. And while you may not care about building codes, it may become an issue if you sell your house, etc.2) I have only had it installed for 5 months. It's now the dead of winter and I haven't been using them much (I am in the San Francisco Bay Area - so no worries about freezing.) But the last time I went outside, I noticed that one of the valves was dripping lots of water. So I shut off the water. Now I have to take it apart and replace whatever cheap washer (or whatever) so that it doesn't keep leaking.3) There is no way to control the amount of water that flows (i.e. no valve). It's either on or off. Which means that you will have to find some other way to adjust the pressure for different areas on the same line.ant-syphon valve.
