I am really impressed and happy with this Matala filter. First off it's pretty big at 22' by 6' it fits VERY snug in my barrel. The water quality was greatly improved by this filter. I use several layers of filtration. The first is window screen holding some small lava rock. The second layer is the blue Matala filter followed by some fine pot scrubbers. The final step is a 3lb bag of Acurel activated carbon also sold by Amazon for 7 dollars. It works so far great.
