I have been using inertia brake controllers for several years and already have 2 of the earlier Prodigy controllers I was well satisfied with. When My Uncle asked me to get him a controller and help instal it, the decision was very easy. These units are not the cheapest on the market, but their function is excellent, and do not require the leveling procedure that many controllers do. The mounting options are fairly flexible, including a kit that allows it to easily be moved from vehicle to vehicle, a display that shows the voltage applied to the trailer brakes, and will also tell you if the brakes are not connected, the wiring has a short, etc. Tekonsha has good technical support, and the Prodigy has a lifetime warranty, so the deal is hard to beat.

I received the Prodigy Brake Control a few days after I ordered it. Installation was very simple, I used the cable that came with it and spliced it to the cable that came with my new F150 and plugged it in. A prefab cable would have made it even easier but I like to put things together myself. I used the under dash mount and an existing screw under the dash so I didn't have to drill any new holes. Setup with the trailer took only a few minutes on a road near my house. Towed my trailer on a camping trip last weekend it worked perfect, even through a heavy rain storm.

Fast delivery & easily installed; only had to purchase the wire harness for make & model of truck. Whole system was installed in my truck & running within 15 minutes. Makes a big difference when hauling my horses.
