My horse is very sensitive to bug bites and I needed something that would not come off with sweat. Endure was recommended to me by my vet because it is oil based and will not rinse off with water. This makes it a great choice when turning out all day because it won't wear off as they perspire, roll in the dew-filled grass, or as a result of a passing shower.It also works great while under saddle even when we are out on the trails -- I don't have to worry about my horse being distracted by flies and mosquitoes and he can focus on what I'm trying to do which is always a good thing.However, I have never noticed an oily residue. It smells ok and is easy to apply -- you will want to rough up your horses coat with a curry brush prior to spraying on, then brush the hair back in place to make sure the spray gets to and stays on the skin.I don't use the roll-on -- if I want to apply it to areas that require "detailing", I will spray onto a rag and wipe it on and it is a lot cheaper that way.Overall, a must have for my horse... and by extension, for me![NCJAR]

We mostly ride on the trail for long periods of time. We encounter lots of bugs of all types. Summers in New England can be very buggy. This spray worked great for all of our horses. This was the only spray I've found that worked really well for repelling mosquitoes and flies.
